Your tired, no need to explain!

You Don’t Need to Explain Why You’re Tired

Somehow, being tired has become something we have to defend.

We’re expected to explain why we’re exhausted.
To prove it makes sense.
To list the reasons so our rest feels justified.

But exhaustion isn’t a courtroom case.

You don’t need to explain why you’re tired.

You don’t need a diagnosis.
You don’t need a dramatic story.
You don’t need to convince anyone that your fatigue is real.

Sometimes you’re tired because you’ve been doing your best for a long time.
Sometimes you’re tired because life hasn’t slowed down enough for you to catch your breath.
Sometimes you’re tired for reasons you can’t even put into words yet.

And that’s okay.

You don’t owe anyone productivity to earn rest.
You don’t owe anyone an explanation for needing space.
You don’t owe anyone access to your energy.

If you’re the kind of person who:

  • Pushes through even when you’re depleted

  • Feels guilty for saying no

  • Minimizes your own needs

  • Tries to stay “strong” so others don’t worry

Then this message is for you.

Being tired doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you’re human.

And it’s allowed to be enough.

You are allowed to rest without defending yourself.
You are allowed to be quiet without needing to apologize.
You are allowed to take care of yourself without explaining why.

Let this be your permission slip.

You have a safe space here — and an understanding friend with me.

You're Not Lazy!

               You’re Not Lazy — You’re Carrying Too Much

    If you’ve been calling yourself lazy lately, pause for a moment.

Lazy doesn’t feel like this.

Lazy doesn’t feel like wanting to do things but having no energy left.

Lazy doesn’t feel like your brain never shuts off, even when your body does.

Lazy doesn’t feel like guilt for resting.

What you’re feeling is weight.

You’ve been carrying responsibilities, emotions, expectations, memories, and survival instincts for a long time. Some of it is visible. Most of it isn’t.

You still show up.
You still care.
You still try.

That alone tells me you’re not lazy.

You’re overloaded.

When your nervous system has been in “keep going” mode for too long, your body eventually pulls the emergency brake. Motivation drops. Focus disappears. Simple tasks feel impossible. And instead of asking, “What am I carrying?” you ask, “What’s wrong with me?”

Nothing is wrong with you.

Burnout doesn’t always look like collapse. Sometimes it looks like scrolling instead of starting. Sitting instead of moving. Needing more rest than you think you’re allowed to have.

Especially if you’re the kind of person who:

  • Was strong at a young age

  • Had to grow up fast

  • Learned to put your needs last

  • Became the dependable one

Your exhaustion makes sense.

You weren’t built to carry everything forever.

And here’s the part no one says out loud:
Rest isn’t a reward for productivity. It’s a requirement for being human.

You don’t need to “get it together.”
You don’t need more discipline.
You don’t need to shame yourself into motion.

You need gentleness.
You need space to set something down.
You need permission to stop treating exhaustion like a personal failure.

If today all you can do is breathe and be, that’s enough.
If your pace looks slower than it used to, that doesn’t mean you’re falling behind — it means you’re healing.

You are not lazy.
You are carrying too much.

And here, you don’t have to carry it alone.

 Stay a while.

Do you have Emotional Exhaustion?

This Is What Emotional Exhaustion Actually Feels Like

Emotional exhaustion doesn’t always announce itself.

It doesn’t always look like crying on the floor or falling apart in public. Most of the time, it’s much quieter than that.

It feels like needing rest but not knowing what kind.
It feels like wanting space but missing people at the same time.
It feels like caring deeply — and also feeling strangely numb.

You might still be functioning.
You might still be responsible.
You might still be doing what needs to be done.

But inside, something feels… thin.

Conversations take more effort than they used to.
Small decisions feel overwhelming.
Noise, questions, and expectations feel heavier than normal.

You’re not dramatic.
You’re not weak.
You’re not “too sensitive.”

You’re emotionally tired.

Emotional exhaustion often shows up when you’ve been:

  • Holding things together for a long time

  • Supporting others while neglecting yourself

  • Suppressing feelings so you can keep functioning

  • Living in survival mode without realizing it

At some point, your nervous system runs out of spare capacity.

So instead of big emotions, you feel flat.
Instead of motivation, you feel resistance.
Instead of sadness, you feel fog.

And the hardest part? You might not feel “bad enough” to justify rest — so you keep pushing.

But emotional exhaustion isn’t a failure.
It’s a signal.

A signal that you’ve been strong longer than was fair.
A signal that your inner world needs care, not criticism.
A signal that something inside you is asking to slow down.

You don’t need to hit rock bottom to deserve gentleness.
You don’t need to explain why you’re tired.
You don’t need permission to take emotional space.

If this feels familiar, let this be your reminder:

What you’re feeling makes sense.
You are not imagining it.
And you are not alone in it.

Stay here as long as you need.

You can have a safe space and an understanding friend with me!

Live a long healthy life!!!

11 RULES for Living a Long, Healthy, Young Life

Follow these daily (or as much as possible), and you’ll add YEARS to your life.

# 1️⃣ Never stop managing stress — stress is the #1 ager

Chronic stress destroys collagen, hormones, and vital organs.

Your healing journey? Your boundaries? The peace you’re choosing?

**This is what adds YEARS to your life.**

Daily stress reducers:

* 10 min quiet alone in the morning

* slow breathing

* warm tea

* journaling

* saying “no” without guilt

* stepping away from drama

* nature walks

# 2️⃣ Walk 30–60 minutes a day (THE LONGEVITY SECRET)

People in long-life areas walk EVERY DAY.

Not hard workouts — *walking*.

Walking lowers inflammation, belly fat, disease, AND aging speed.

Do this:

✔ 30 min walk daily OR

✔ 10 min after meals

# 3️⃣ Eat like a Blue Zone queen

These are the longest-living people in the world.

Eat more:

* beans (black, pinto, lentils)

* veggies

* berries

* nuts & seeds

* olive oil

* sweet potatoes

* whole grains

* herbal teas

* fish (2–3x/week)

Eat less:

* fried food

* red meat

* processed food

* sugar

* alcohol

* soda

Your new motto:

**“Mostly plants, sometimes treats.”**

# 4️⃣ Sleep like your life depends on it (because it does)

7–9 hours.

Deep sleep heals your brain, skin, metabolism, emotions, and organs.

Night routine:

* low lights

* no screens 30 minutes before bed

* magnesium (this helps so much)

* warm shower

* soft music

* cool room

* comfortable bedding

# 5️⃣ Keep your body at a stable weight

We’re not talking about being thin.

We’re talking about **stable**.

Weight that goes way up & down = inflammation.

Even being 10–20 lbs above ideal is fine IF you're stable.

# 6️⃣ Drink water all day — not soda

Water keeps your organs clean, brain sharp, and skin youthful.

Soda, energy drinks, and sugary coffee age the body faster.

Aim for 70–90 oz/day.

# 7️⃣ Lift something twice a week

Muscle = longevity.

Women lose muscle after 30 → leads to weakness, brittle bones, wrinkles, and metabolism crash.

Quick routine (2 days/week):

* 10 squats

* 10 lunges

* 10 glute bridges

* 10 push-ups (or wall pushups)

* 15 min total

That's it.

# 8️⃣ Stay emotionally healthy + connected

People with good relationships live longer.

But also:

* let go of toxic people

* seek peace over chaos

* choose love over stress

* maintain purpose

* talk about feelings

* build meaning

# 9️⃣ Minimal alcohol

Alcohol = faster aging, gut issues, sleep issues.

You don’t have to cut it out, but limit to:

* 1 drink occasionally

* never more than 2 per setting

* hydrate before & after

# ๐Ÿ”Ÿ Keep dopamine healthy

Slow-aging brains require *balanced* dopamine.

Do more:

* reading

* nature

* creating

* building goals

* helping people

* laughing

* love/connection

Do less:

* doom scrolling

* TikTok overstimulation

* getting pulled into drama

11. Take longevity supplements (the right ones)

Do your research!!! Natural, no fillers!! I'll go over this more in detail in future blogs!

 BONUS: Beauty + Anti-Aging Rules

You’ll love these because they work:

✔ Never sleep on your face

✔ Use silk pillowcases

✔ Use sunscreen on face, neck, chest daily

✔ Hydrate your skin nightly

✔ Take collagen

✔ Reduce sugar (collagen killer)

✔ Avoid tanning & sunburns

✔ Try to stay happy — it shows in your skin

✔ Moisturize your neck even more than your face

✔ Stay in love (love increases healthy hormones)

LIVE A LONGGGGG HEALTHY LIFE!!!

Changes are coming to Seasons of Life.... Short story Hint ;)

Finding Forever at Seasons of Life

The Johnson family arrived under a sky brushed with soft morning light. Wind chimes swayed gently above the gate that read:
“Seasons of Life — Where Hearts Heal and All Creatures Find Home.”

They hadn’t come for a vacation; they’d come searching for something missing. After months of feeling the quiet in their home where laughter used to echo, they’d heard about a place where people and rescue dogs could find peace—and maybe, each other.

The moment they stepped onto the cobblestone path of Doggy Town, the air felt different. It smelled like sunlight and cedar shavings, and the sounds of gentle music and wagging tails filled the air. Small cottages lined the walkway, each home to a rescue dog waiting for a family.

At the Pup Cafรฉ, the children sipped strawberry-lavender lemonade while volunteers introduced them to friendly faces—Buddy, the golden retriever; Luna, the shy border collie; and finally, Milo, a small black-and-white terrier with a crooked tail and curious eyes.

Milo didn’t bark or jump. He simply walked over, sat down beside the youngest boy, and rested his paw on the child’s shoe.
The connection was instant—quiet, sure, and pure.

“Why don’t you stay the night?” said Ellie, the caretaker. “We offer Adopt & Stay Cabins so families can spend time with their match before deciding.”

That evening, the Johnsons explored the Seasons of Life Exhibit, a walk-through experience of the stages of life—Birth, Growth, Love, and Wisdom. They ended the day at Matt’s Retro Vault, where they played old arcade games and laughed harder than they had in months.

Later, they watched a movie under the stars, Milo curled at their feet, his eyes flicking from the screen to their faces as if memorizing them.

When morning came, the sun poured golden light through the cabin window. The family found their son sitting outside on the porch, Milo in his lap, both looking out over the gardens.

“I think he’s already ours,” the boy whispered.

Ellie met them at checkout with papers and a wooden tag engraved with Seasons of Life Family.

“Every soul that heals here,” she said, “becomes part of the circle.”

As they drove away, Milo’s ears flapped in the wind, the resort fading behind them in the distance. The Johnsons didn’t just adopt a dog that weekend—they found a missing piece of themselves.

And Seasons of Life stood waiting, ready for the next heart to come home.

Do you have Family Meetings with your kids? Here is why you should!

Why Family Meetings Have Been a Lifesaver for Me and My Kids

I’ve learned over the years that one of the best ways to keep my family connected is by holding regular family meetings. Now, before you picture a big conference table and a long agenda, let me tell you—it’s nothing like that. For us, family meetings are usually just gathering in the living room or around the kitchen table.

I call a meeting when I know something big is coming up—like a move, a new job, or even something fun like a vacation. Sometimes it’s just because chores aren’t getting done and I’d rather talk about it all together instead of repeating myself ten times.

But honestly, I leaned on family meetings the most when I was going through my divorce. That was such a hard season for all of us. I didn’t want my kids to feel like they were in the dark or that their voices didn’t matter. So, we sat down together more often, and I made sure each of them got the chance to talk and share how they were feeling—with no judgment.

And you know what? Those meetings brought us closer.

What Happens in Our Family Meetings

Here’s how we usually do it:

  • Everyone gets a turn to talk.

  • No interrupting and no making fun of what someone shares.

  • We try to end with a plan—or even better, something positive.

Sometimes the meetings are quick, and other times the conversations go deeper. But no matter what, my kids know it’s their safe space to be honest.

Why I Believe They Work

  • They help my kids feel heard. Even if I don’t always agree, they know I’m listening.

  • They build respect. We practice listening to each other without judgment.

  • They keep us connected. Life can get so busy, but these meetings pull us back together.

  • They provide stability. Especially during my divorce, my kids needed that regular check-in time to feel secure.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve never tried a family meeting, I encourage you to. It doesn’t have to be fancy—just pick a time, gather together, and let everyone share what’s on their hearts.

For us, these little meetings have become more than just “talking things out.” They’ve been a way to teach my kids that their voice matters, that we’re a team, and that no matter what life throws our way, we face it together.

I Hear You

I Hear You

Some days, the world feels too heavy.
You get up, go through the motions, and still feel like you’re carrying something no one else can see. Maybe it’s worry. Maybe it’s grief. Maybe it’s the quiet ache of not feeling understood.

If that’s you today—I hear you.

"You don’t have to explain it all or have the, right words.”

The fact that you’re breathing and moving forward, even while it feels impossible, is already proof of your strength.

I want you to know something important: you are not alone in this. Even if no one around you understands the depth of what you’re going through, you are still worthy of peace, love, and rest.

It’s okay to feel tired. It’s okay to not have it all figured out.
What matters is that you’re still here—and that matters more than you realize.

So if you need permission to stop being so hard on yourself, here it is. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to heal slowly. And you’re allowed to still hope for brighter days.

You are seen. You are loved. You are stronger than this storm.

New Phycological Thriller story in the making....

                New Story Coming Soon: Until I Wake

I’m so excited to finally share something I’ve been quietly working on—my brand-new novel, Until I Wake. This story has been living in my mind and heart for months, and I can’t wait for you to experience it.

At its core, Until I Wake is a psychological thriller with a hauntingly emotional twist. It follows the story of Ava, a woman trapped between reality and illusion. When she wakes up in a version of her life where everything she built with her perfect someone is gone, she’s forced to confront strange and terrifying events that make her question her own sanity.

From ghostly whispers in the night to unsettling encounters that defy explanation, the tension builds with every chapter. But underneath the suspense lies something deeper—a journey through love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit.

What I love most about this book is that it plays with perception. As the story unfolds, you’ll start to wonder:

  • Is Ava being haunted… or is she losing her mind?

  • What’s real, and what’s a creation of her own memories?

  • And most importantly—what happens when the truth finally comes to light?

I’ve poured my heart into this one, weaving in both edge-of-your-seat suspense and raw, emotional depth. If you love stories that make you feel as much as they make you think, you’re going to connect with Until I Wake.

Why you’ll love it:

  • A gripping blend of psychological suspense and emotional drama

  • Cliffhangers at the end of every chapter to keep you turning pages

  • A twist ending that will stay with you long after you close the book

I’ll be sharing sneak peeks, character reveals, and behind-the-scenes details here on the blog as we get closer to release day. Stay tuned—you won’t want to miss it.

Thank you for being here and supporting my writing journey. This one is going to be unforgettable.

Until I Wake — Coming Soon.

Your Brain is making you SICK!!!

The Connection Between Mental Health and Physical Health — And Why You Can’t Ignore It

Most people are in denial that their overall body health and the health of their mind are indeed connected.

To me, a quiet small-town girl with a passion to heal those around her, it seems very obvious that the two need each other to thrive. I’m not a doctor, but I feel I have done enough of my own research and studying to be one by now! I have observed, I have listened, and I have tested the theories out on myself over the past 36 years.

It’s common sense (or at least it should be) that when we feel upset all the time, are stressing about random things that don’t matter, and big things that do… our bodies are not happy. Then, when our body isn’t happy, we feel ill. Our immune system gets lazy, it’s no longer able to stand up to those pesky germs, and before you know it — we’re sicker than a dog!

The Science Backs It Up

Here’s what research says (for those who like receipts):

Real-Life Proof You’ve Probably Felt

Think about it — when you’ve had a really bad week:

  • Your shoulders get tight.

  • Your sleep goes out the window.

  • You catch every cold going around.

  • You have no energy for the things you normally enjoy.

That’s not a coincidence. That’s your mind and body having a conversation — and right now, they’re gossiping about how burnt out you are.

How to Take Care of Both

The good news? If the mind and body are connected, then working on one can help heal the other.
Here are some things I’ve learned (and lived) that really make a difference:

  1. Breathe on purpose – Even two minutes of slow, deep breathing can lower stress hormones.

  2. Move daily – Not to lose weight, not to look a certain way — just to move your energy around and keep your body strong.

  3. Eat food that loves you back – Whole, nourishing foods help your body fight illness and your mind feel more stable.

  4. Speak kindly to yourselfNegative self-talk is like feeding your brain spoiled milk. It will make you sick from the inside out.

  5. Rest without guilt – Sleep is when your brain cleans house and your body repairs itself.

The Bottom Line

You can’t pour into your life if your cup is empty. Your mind and body are not separate teams — they’re partners. When one is hurting, the other is too. And when you care for both? That’s when you truly start to thrive.

         ?????? What can you do to help yourself  ??????

      Gardening is a Natural Medicine for the Mind and Body

If you want a simple, affordable way to boost your mental and physical health, let me tell you — a garden might just be your answer. Whether it’s a community garden or a little patch of earth in your own backyard, spending time with plants and soil does way more than give you pretty flowers and fresh tomatoes. Gardening is medicine for the soul, and the more time you spend in it, the more you feel that truth deep down.

1. You’re more likely to eat healthy.
When you grow your own food, you naturally start eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. There’s something about pulling a carrot from the ground or plucking a tomato off the vine that makes it taste better than anything from the store. And because you worked for it, you want to eat it.

2. It lowers stress hormones.
Studies have shown that gardening can lower cortisol levels (that pesky stress hormone). Add in fresh air, sunshine, and a little movement, and your brain starts releasing those happy chemicals like serotonin and dopamine.

3. Gardening is grounding.
Literally. Touching the earth connects you to the natural world in a physical way. When your hands are in the soil, your body releases built-up static and stress — almost like the earth is taking in the bad and giving you calm in return. This grounding can help quiet racing thoughts and bring you back to the present moment.

4. It strengthens community connections.
If you join a community garden, you’re not just growing plants — you’re growing friendships. Sharing tips, trading seeds, and helping each other’s plots creates a support system that naturally lifts your mood and sense of belonging.

5. It moves your body without feeling like “exercise.”
Bending, lifting, digging, and carrying water all count as movement, but it’s so enjoyable you don’t even realize you’re exercising. That physical activity improves circulation, strengthens muscles, and supports heart health.

6. It’s free therapy you can take daily.
There’s something about watching a seed turn into a plant that feeds you — body and soul. It teaches patience, hope, and resilience. Plants don’t grow overnight, and neither do we.

WAKE UP!!

 Wake Up: Reclaiming Health, Land, and Freedom in a Manufactured World

    Are you tired of feeling like the system is working against you? You’re not alone. More and more people are waking up to the reality that much of our healthcare, food, and economic systems are designed to keep us dependent—sick, stressed, and broke. This post explores how the system maintains control, and how you can reclaim your health, land, and freedom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. The Sick Care Industry: ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿค’
Modern medicine often prioritizes treating symptoms rather than healing the root cause. Pharmaceuticals are prescribed for everything, but they frequently come with side effects that require even more medication. True healing—through food, rest, movement, and emotional work—is rarely encouraged.
2. Poison in Our Food Supply: ๐Ÿคข☣️
Conventional farming relies on chemical pesticides and herbicides like glyphosate, which has been linked to cancer and hormone disruption. Organic foods are often priced out of reach, while processed junk is cheap and accessible. This is no accident—it's systemic.
3. Chemical Exposure Everywhere: ☣️๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘Ž
From fluoride in toothpaste to aluminum in deodorants, we are constantly exposed to chemicals that disrupt our bodies. Many of these are banned in Europe but still legal in the U.S.
4. Environmental and Psychological Control: ๐Ÿคฏ
Fear-based news, environmental pollution, and debt culture all keep us distracted and disempowered. We're taught to consume rather than create. To obey rather than question.
❓️❓️❓️❓️So What Can You Do?❓️❓️❓️
You can reclaim your power by stepping outside the system.
๐Ÿฅฆ๐ŸŽGrow your own food ๐Ÿซ›๐ŸŒฝ
Learn natural healing ๐Ÿฏ
Educate your children about emotional resilience ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ’ช
Create your own economy through digital or physical goods ๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ‘ง‍๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฅ•๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿ’’๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿ“š
 ⚖️ Take small steps that lead to a big impact ⚖️
DONE explaining myself
Why I Stopped Explaining My Pain (And Started Healing in Nature)
By SL Bradley
There comes a point where explaining your pain feels more exhausting than the pain itself.
I used to feel like I had to justify my emotions. I’d pour out every detail, hoping someone would finally say, “I get it.” But most people didn’t. They couldn’t. And over time, I realized their inability to understand wasn’t mine to fix.
So I stopped explaining.
And I started healing.
The Silence That Saved Me
When I let go of needing to be understood, I found something else waiting: peace.
I started walking in the garden more.
Not just for the plants—but for the **stillness**. The kind of stillness that holds space without judgment.
The breeze didn’t need an explanation.
The rain didn’t ask for a backstory.
Nature simply let me *be*—and that changed everything.
The Garden Became My Reset Button
In those quiet moments, something began to shift. I wasn’t running from the pain—I was finally **sitting with it**, without pressure or performance.
That’s where the idea for *Giggles in the Garden* was born.
I wanted to take that sense of calm, that safety, and turn it into something healing—not just for me, but for others too. Especially for kids who don’t always have the words yet.
From Pain to Purpose
Now, I create soothing songs, calming videos, and printable healing tools—not because I have it all figured out, but because I *finally* stopped pretending I had to.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re “too much” or “too sensitive”...
If you’re tired of explaining your trauma just to be believed...
If you long for a soft place to land, even for a moment—
You’re not alone here.
๐Ÿ€Clover Paths & Compost Gold: The Lazy Genius Way I Mulch My Garden Beds
 Let me tell you a story…
It all started with a wagon full of grass clippings. I had mowed the yard and tossed the clippings in there with every intention of dumping them in my compost pile. But, like most of my well-meaning intentions, I got busy... and forgot. Then it rained. Then I forgot again.
Next thing I know, I walk past the wagon and catch a whiff of what can only be described as fermented cow manure meets lawn smoothie. ๐Ÿคข And in that exact moment, I had a lightbulb moment:๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ก
“Wait... is this gross liquid actually good for the garden?” ๐Ÿง๐Ÿผ‍♀️
Turns out? It kind of was.
From Forgotten Funk to Fertilizer Gold
That smelly wagon stew was actually a form of accidental compost tea. And while I wouldn't recommend dumping it straight onto delicate plants (trust me, it needs to be diluted), it was rich in nutrients—and I used it on my compost pile and around some tougher plants. Lazy win #1.
But here’s where things really took off.
๐ŸŒพ Straw = Not My Best Friend
I had been buying straw bales to use as mulch in my garden beds, thinking I was being smart. Until one day, I looked around and noticed… a whole new garden was growing. Only I didn’t plant it.
Yep—my beds were now full of germinating straw seeds. Weeds I paid for. ๐Ÿ˜‘
That was the moment I said, “No more.”.......
Enter: Clover & Controlled Wildness
I decided to lean into what I already had—my yard. I bought multiple 5-pound bag of clover seed and spread it through all the grassy areas and garden paths!!! Clover does everything I need:
  • It fixes nitrogen, naturally feeding my soil
  • Bees and pollinators love it
  • It stays short, soft, and I don’t have to mow it
  • It adds to the wild, beautiful vibe I want in my garden
So instead of trying to tame the whole yard, I’m letting the paths and borders grow wild and free, while keeping my garden beds neat, mulched, and intentional.
Drying My Own Mulch: Lazy Genius Style
Now when I mow (the clover or any other grass), I collect the clippings and lay them out on a tarp or old sheet in the sun to dry.
Here’s my simple method:
  1. Mow + collect clippings
  2. Spread them thin in a sunny spot
  3. Stir them every day or two until crispy
  4. Store them in breathable bins or bags
  5. Use them as mulch around my plants (NOT too close to the stems!)
It’s free. It’s clean. And it won’t sprout a hayfield in my potato patch.
 Lazy win #2.
The Magic of Wild Paths + Tidy Beds
This balance—wild paths, intentional beds—feels like the best of both worlds. My garden is becoming a living metaphor:
Let the wild things grow where they belong, and nurture the space where your vision is taking root.
It's peaceful. It's beautiful. And most importantly—it's me.
๐ŸŽฅ Watch It Come to Life
I’ll be showing a quick walkthrough of this on my YouTube channel, Seasons of life so you can see the wagon, the clippings, the clover, and all the real-life garden magic (and mess) behind it.
Want to Try This Yourself?
Stay tuned—I'm adding a free printable with my lazy girl mulch recipe, drying guide, and how to make this system work for your garden too.
Whether you’re a seasoned homesteader or just a tired mama trying not to buy one more bale of straw, this method could save you time, money, and a whole lot of weedy frustration.
Because around here… we grow with purpose, love with ease, and mulch like a wildflower warrior ๐ŸŒธ
Healing Childhood Trauma in the Garden – Rooted Episode 1
 Hello friends,
Today, I’m sitting in my garden house, sorting seeds and sorting through memories. ๐ŸŒฑ✨
In the very first episode of Rooted on YouTube, I’m opening up about childhood trauma—what it is, how it shapes us, and how we can begin to heal.
For a long time, I didn’t even realize I was carrying the weight of childhood trauma. It showed up in ways I never expected: the people-pleasing, the anxiety, the feeling like I always had to prove my worth. Maybe you’ve felt those patterns too.
Here’s what I shared in the video:
How to Know If You Have Childhood Trauma
  • Feeling unworthy or ashamed for no reason
  • Struggling with boundaries
  • Toxic relationship patterns
  • Anxiety, depression, or physical symptoms like chronic pain
  • Feeling disconnected from your emotions
  • Ways to Cope and Heal
    • Acknowledge your pain without judgment
    • Use grounding practices like gardening or time in nature
    • Start therapy or talk to safe, supportive people
    • Reparent yourself—give yourself the love you needed as a child
    • Practice healthy boundaries and protect your energy
    • Remember: healing is a journey, and you don’t have to go it alone
    I believe healing is just like tending a garden. ๐ŸŒฟ You plant small seeds of change, nurture them, and with time and care, they bloom into something beautiful.
    If you’re ready to join me on this journey, watch Episode 1 of Rooted here:
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://youtu.be/7vganrygnko?feature=shared
    Let’s create a safe, honest, and healing space together. Drop a comment on the video and share your own story, if you feel called.
    Sending you hope and love,
    SL Bradley
“What Type of Trauma Are You Holding On To?” (Free Quiz Inside)
๐Ÿ’œ“What Type of Trauma Are You Holding On To?” (Free Quiz Inside)
Trauma doesn’t always scream. Sometimes, it whispers—through anxiety, chronic pain, broken relationships, or the feeling that something is just… off.
If you’ve ever said, “I don’t even know what’s wrong with me,”—you’re not alone.
Many people carry emotional wounds from childhood, betrayal, loss, or abuse—but they don’t know how to name it. And if we can’t name it, how can we ever hope to heal?
That’s why I created this series of gentle self-discovery quizzes—to help you pinpoint what kind of trauma may be holding you back, and where your healing journey can begin.
✨ What You’ll Find Inside:
These short, printable questionnaires are designed to guide you with yes/no and multiple-choice style reflections—easy enough for anyone to complete but powerful enough to spark real insight. They cover:
  • Childhood Emotional Neglect
  • Betrayal and Trust Trauma
  • Relationship & Attachment Trauma
  • Survival Mode & Hyper-Independence
  • Grief & Loss Trauma
  • And more to come…
๐ŸŒฑ Why It Matters:
When we don’t know our trauma, we tend to:
  • Repeat patterns we don’t understand
  • Feel stuck in relationships or jobs
  • Struggle with confidence, trust, or rest
  • Seek healing in all the wrong places
But once you identify the type of trauma you carry, everything starts to shift. It gives you language. It gives you clarity. And most importantly—it gives you power back.
๐Ÿงฉ Ready to Discover Your Hidden Trauma?
These printable quizzes are now available in my Etsy shop:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Click here to grab the Trauma Self-Discovery Quiz Pack
(More being added soon—save the shop to stay updated!)
Whether you're just starting your healing journey or deep into self-work, these tools are a meaningful first step toward understanding what your body and mind have been holding for far too long.
❤️ Final Thoughts:
You are not broken.
You are carrying unprocessed pain.
And the first act of healing is simply getting curious.
Let this be the moment you pause, reflect, and say:
“I’m ready to understand myself.”
The Beginning of Something Rooted: A New Chapter in My Life—And Maybe Yours Too
I have something vulnerable and powerful to share: my newest book, Rooted: Finding Real Love in a Fake World, is officially complete and waiting to be released.
This book has been living in my heart for years. It’s not just pages and chapters—it’s pieces of me. It’s everything I’ve learned about heartbreak, healing, over-explaining, people-pleasing, trauma, red flags, and finally—real love.
In a world where filters, ghosting, and hookup culture are normalized, Rooted is a call back to what’s real. It’s for the ones who have been told they’re “too sensitive” or “too much,” and have wondered if lasting love even exists anymore.
It’s not a dating guide. It’s not another list of dos and don’ts. It’s an invitation.
✨ An invitation to heal.
✨ To reflect.
✨ To reclaim your standards.
✨ To prepare for love that doesn’t require shrinking yourself.
Each chapter includes real talk, reflection prompts, and journal exercises—because this isn’t a book you just read. It’s a journey you take.
๐Ÿ’ฌ If you’ve ever asked:
  • “Why do I keep falling for the wrong ones?”
  • “Am I broken, or is dating just this hard?”
  • “Will I ever feel seen and chosen without pretending?”
Then this book is for you.
The official Amazon link is still on its way—but I couldn’t wait to start this conversation. If any part of this message spoke to you, comment below, share it, or just follow along. When the book officially launches, I’ll be sharing it everywhere.
➡️ Follow for updates, sneak peeks, and healing tools: seasonsoflifecampground.com ➡️ Sign up for my newsletter and be the first to know when Rooted goes live.
Let’s grow something stronger—together. ๐ŸŒณ
The Stories That Heal Us- Why I Started Sharing on Etsy and Youtube.
There was a time in my life when I felt invisible.
    Like I was screaming into the world, but no one heard me. I spent years hiding pieces of myself just to keep the peace. But slowly, through healing, journaling, and lots of growing pains—I began to reclaim those pieces.
And that’s why I started writing stories again.
Not just any stories—stories that feel like medicine for the soul. Stories that remind people they're not broken. That beauty still blooms after the storm. That you can lose everything you thought you needed and still become someone stronger, softer, and more whole.
My Etsy shop was born from that healing. I wanted a place where someone could stumble upon a digital download and feel like the universe left them a love note.
                                    My Newest Short Story
I just added a new piece called "The Girl Who Grew Through Winter".
It’s about heartbreak, quiet growth, and the moment you realize you're not just surviving—you’re blooming.
It’s the kind of story you might read on a quiet morning with tea in hand and tears in your eyes... not from pain, but from finally feeling seen.
“Not everything that stops blooming is dying.”
— The Girl Who Grew Through Winter
 Mental Health Matters—Every Day, Not Just in May
As someone who lives with anxiety and has walked through dark seasons, I know how lonely it can feel. That’s why every word I write is rooted in empathy. You're not alone. You’re never too far gone. And your softness is not your weakness—it’s your gift.
Come Walk With Me
I’d love for you to explore my growing collection of heart-healing short stories. Each one is written with intention, warmth, and truth.
You are not behind. You are not broken.
You are growing—even when it’s quiet.
Why I’m Creating a Children’s Book Series That Teaches Life Skills Through Storytelling
 HELLO!!! I hope the day is finding you well,
As a mom, skills trainer, and children’s book author, I’ve seen firsthand how much our kids are navigating emotionally—often without the tools they need to express or manage those feelings. That’s why I’m combining my two passions—creative storytelling and mental health education—into something I believe could really make a difference: a brand-new children’s book series paired with a life skills curriculum.
Why This Series Matters
In today’s world, kids are dealing with big feelings, peer pressure, anxiety, and more—all while trying to learn math and spelling. But what about the life skills that help them cope, communicate, and grow confident in who they are?
That’s where this new series comes in. My upcoming books are designed to do more than entertain—they’ll teach kids how to navigate their emotions, build self-esteem, express themselves, and handle real-life challenges, all in a way that’s gentle, engaging, and age-appropriate.
What’s Coming
I’m currently working on two new children’s books, both of which will pair with a fun and interactive Outschool class designed for kids ages 6–11. These stories will feature lovable characters and relatable situations that open up conversations about emotions, friendships, self-control, and healthy habits.
But I didn’t stop there—I’m also creating a printable life skills curriculum that goes along with the books. Whether you're a parent, homeschooler, or educator, you’ll be able to use these lessons to guide children through what they’ve learned in the stories in a meaningful, memorable way.
Created From the Heart ๐Ÿ’–
This project was born out of my own experience working with students who struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, and emotional expression. I wanted to create something fun and meaningful that helps kids realize they’re not alone—and gives them tools to thrive emotionally and socially.
This is just the beginning!
Follow along for more updates, sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes as I bring these stories and lessons to life. Details coming soon!
๐Ÿ“Œ Don’t miss a thing:
  • ๐Ÿ‘‰ Follow me on Pinterest for inspiration and project updates
  • ๐Ÿ‘‰ Check out my Etsy shop for printables and resources coming soon
Thank you for being here. Together, we can help the next generation grow strong from the inside out.
Before the Bloom: A Golden hour walkthrough my sleeping garden.
                THE SLEEPY GARDEN....
There’s something sacred about the garden before it wakes up.
This evening, under the soft light of golden hour, I walked through the bare bones of what will soon become my sanctuary. My garden is still asleep, resting beneath the earth after a long winter. But I can feel it—change is whispering just beneath the soil.
I paused where my garden house will one day stand, imagining the little kitchen, the tucked-away books, the soft sounds of classical music drifting out the open window. I imagined herbs drying in the sunlight and laughter around the little fire pit nearby.
Today I took a photo of this place in its before—the space that holds hope. The space that’s waiting to be filled.
It’s not fancy right now.
It’s raw, and quiet, and honest.
But so am I.
From Winter’s Stillness to Spring’s Awakening
Winter is not the absence of growth—it’s the preparation for it.
It’s where the real healing happens—underground, unseen, slowly.
And now, as the season begins to turn, I feel that same stirring in myself.
That’s why I created the Nature Cure Journal—a printable 30-day journey through healing, reflection, and awakening. It mirrors this transition from winter to spring. From stillness to movement. From surviving… to gently thriving.
What’s Inside the Journal
  • 30 days of soulful prompts
  • Gentle emotional check-ins
  • Space for herbal notes and wellness tracking
  • Affirmations and reflections to guide you from the quiet of winter into the bloom of spring
Whether you’re just beginning your healing or are ready to grow something new inside yourself, this journal is a soft place to land and begin again.
๐Ÿ–จ️ It's printable, easy to use, and designed with deep love and intention.
๐Ÿ›’ Available now in my Etsy shop:
Here’s to fresh beginnings.
To slow healing.
To blooms that begin underground.
Nurturing Young Minds: Coping with Emotions Through Creative Expression
Nurturing Young Minds: Coping with Emotions Through Creative Expression
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s more important than ever to help our little ones understand and express their emotions. I’m excited to share insights from my children’s book, which gently introduces topics like anxiety, depression, and anger, and offers creative ways for kids to manage these feelings. In this post, I’ll talk about some common mental health challenges kids face and offer practical solutions—plus, I’m thrilled to announce a FREE PDF with coloring pages designed to encourage mindfulness and calm.
Why Talking About Mental Health Matters for Kids
Children experience a wide range of emotions, and often, they don’t have the words or tools to express what they’re feeling. By discussing mental health in a kid-friendly way, we empower them to understand their emotions and develop healthy coping strategies.
  • Emotional Literacy: Learning to identify and name their feelings is the first step toward managing them.
  • Building Resilience: Equipping kids with coping techniques helps build resilience, preparing them for life’s ups and downs.
  • Open Communication: When we talk about mental health openly, it creates a safe space for kids to share their experiences without judgment.
Common Emotions: Anxiety, Depression, and Anger
Every child feels worried, sad, or angry sometimes. Here’s how we can recognize and gently address these feelings:
  • Anxiety: Often, children might worry about things they can’t control. Simple breathing exercises, reassuring words, and a calm environment can work wonders.
  • Depression: A feeling of sadness or low energy can sometimes be seen in children, too. Encourage them to talk about their feelings and engage in activities that bring joy, such as drawing or playing outdoors.
  • Anger: It’s normal for kids to feel angry. Teaching them to pause and express their anger through art, movement, or even writing can help transform that energy into something positive.
Simple Strategies for Emotional Wellness
Here are a few techniques you can try with your child to help them manage their emotions:
  • Mindful Breathing: Teach your child to take slow, deep breaths when they feel overwhelmed. Making it a fun activity, like “smelling the flower and blowing out the candle,” can make it more engaging.
  • Creative Outlets: Encourage drawing, painting, or coloring. Creative activities allow kids to express feelings they might not be able to put into words.
  • Routine and Predictability: A consistent routine helps children feel secure. Even simple activities like reading together or a daily walk can provide comfort.
  • Open Dialogue: Let your child know that all emotions are valid. Regular check-ins can help them feel heard and understood.
Announcing a Special Free Resource: PDF Coloring Pages
To support your journey in helping kids manage their emotions, I’m excited to announce that I will soon be offering a free PDF of coloring pages! These pages are designed to be both fun and therapeutic, featuring themes and imagery inspired by the gentle narratives in my children’s book. Coloring has long been known as a calming activity that helps children relax and focus, making it a perfect tool for managing stress and expressing creativity.
How to Use the Coloring Pages:
  • Mindfulness Practice: Encourage your child to focus on the colors they choose and the patterns they fill in, turning the activity into a mindfulness exercise.
  • Emotional Expression: Use the pages as a conversation starter about how they feel. Ask questions like, “What does this color remind you of?” or “How does drawing this make you feel?”
  • Quality Time: Enjoy coloring together as a family. This can be a wonderful bonding experience and a way to model healthy emotional expression.
Addressing mental health doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right tools and a little creativity, we can help our children navigate their feelings and grow into emotionally resilient adults. I’m passionate about sharing these ideas through my children’s book and supporting resources like the free PDF coloring pages. Stay tuned for more details on when you can download the PDF, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or questions in the comments below.
Let’s embark on this journey together—one colorful step at a time!
๐Ÿ„ Behind the Scenes: Writing a Thriller That Keeps Readers on Edge
Hello, my beloved friends,
I’m currently working on a new book—one that takes a fresh twist on the thriller genre. The Echoes of Tomorrow is a story filled with high stakes, psychological tension, and a dark mystery waiting to unfold. This novel is different from my previous works, diving deep into themes of corruption, revenge, and the thin line between justice and madness.
There’s something electrifying about writing a thriller—the tension, the mystery, the slow unraveling of secrets. Unlike other genres, thrillers demand a constant push-and-pull between giving readers just enough information to keep them hooked while holding back enough to maintain suspense.
As I dive into my latest project, The Echoes of Tomorrow, I’ve been reflecting on what it takes to craft a truly compelling thriller. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at my process and the key elements I focus on while bringing this story to life.
1. The Power of the Hook
A great thriller starts with an unforgettable hook. For The Echoes of Tomorrow, the story revolves around a young man, Alexander, who experiences disturbing premonitions about a disaster at his school. As he races to uncover the truth, he finds himself entangled in a deeper conspiracy—one that threatens not just the school, but the entire town.
Every thriller needs a ticking clock—a sense of urgency that keeps the stakes high. Whether it’s a time-sensitive mystery, an unraveling crime, or a looming disaster, the story must keep moving forward, making readers feel like they’re racing against time along with the protagonist.
2. Creating an Unpredictable Antagonist
One of my favorite aspects of writing thrillers is crafting a layered antagonist. The villain in The Echoes of Tomorrow is a brilliant but broken former student who was failed by the system. He sees himself as a victim, yet his methods are extreme and destructive.
A great thriller villain isn’t just “evil.” They have motivation, pain, and logic behind their actions—even if it’s twisted logic. Their presence should send shivers down the reader’s spine, making them question how far someone can go when they feel they have nothing left to lose.
3. Playing with Suspense and Unreliable Narratives
I love to use dream sequences and visions as a storytelling device, blurring the line between reality and premonition. It’s something I’ve incorporated into The Echoes of Tomorrow to create an unsettling, almost surreal atmosphere.
Suspense thrives when readers aren’t sure who (or what) to believe. Dropping false clues, creating misleading characters, and planting red herrings all help maintain that delicious sense of paranoia.
4. The Dark Yet Hopeful Ending
Thrillers don’t always have to end in doom and gloom. While my story will have dark themes, the ending will leave readers on edge yet hopeful—suggesting that, even in the face of destruction, there’s still a chance for redemption and survival.
Writing a thriller is like setting a trap and waiting to see how the reader reacts. Every twist, every unsettling moment, and every moral dilemma is designed to keep them guessing until the final page.
What do you love most about thrillers? Is it the mystery, the twists, or the psychological tension? Let’s talk in the comments!
